In one sentence: AfriCompliance helps you plan and keep records; only an accredited laboratory test can show that your produce meets a residue limit, and only the authorities can certify a shipment.
Waiting periods are not residue tests
A pre-harvest interval (PHI) is a minimum waiting time taken from the product label. Waiting it lowers the risk of residues, but residue levels also depend on dose, number of sprays, weather, crop stage and application method. A "waiting period met" result does not mean your produce complies with a market's maximum residue level (MRL).
Limits change
Markets change their limits and approvals regularly. EU limits in AfriCompliance come from the EU Pesticides Database and are updated automatically every week when the update succeeds (each result shows the date of its data); other markets and product details are updated by hand and may be out of date. Always confirm the current limit for your crop and market — for the EU, in the EU Pesticides Database — before relying on it.
Products and label scans
Pesticide information is matched by trade name and active ingredient. Formulations differ between countries and suppliers. The label-photo feature can misread names, so always check the match against the bottle. A product that is registered in Kenya may still be banned or restricted in your export market.
Safety
Always read and follow the product label, use the protective equipment it requires, and store chemicals securely. In case of poisoning, seek medical help immediately and show the product label.
Records and QR codes
PDF spray records and QR codes show what users entered. They are not accredited certificates, and we do not verify the farm activity they describe.
Official requirements
Export documents, inspections and certifications follow the processes of KEPHIS, HCD/AFA, the importing country and your buyer. Our guides summarise these processes and may not reflect every recent change. AfriCompliance is independent and is not endorsed by KEPHIS, the European Commission or any certification body.
